Management Biographies
Ron Asher
Chairman and Founder
As the Company’s Founder and Chairman, Ron Asher has built Relocation.com from his initial concept and vision into the Internet’s largest marketplace connecting consumers who are moving with quality moving and storage professionals. From the original website that Ron created, www.VanLines.com to later additions such as USRealEstate.com, InternationalMovers.com, NationalMortgage.com, CarMovers.com, TopMovingCompanies.com and QuotesAtHome.com, Asher has used his online marketing creativity and technological expertise to build a large consumer audience and a high level of visibility for Relocation.com’s network of websites while creating a product and service offering that delivers true value to the moving and storage industry.
As the former owner of his own moving business in Westchester, New York, Asher understood how moving companies could deliver a high level of service to consumers, and he sought to bring this service quality to consumers across the Internet. Asher soon realized the largely untapped potential that the Internet could bring to the moving industry, and launched VanLines.com in 2000. Asher spent the next several years aggressively expanding the business, capturing ancillary industry categories and building out new websites in related categories and developing an innovative search engine optimization strategy to generate and cultivate a large consumer audience and valuable leads for Relocation.com advertisers. Asher has subsequently attracted a deep and experienced management team to help take Relocation.com to its next level of growth and success. The result of these efforts is the most successful network of moving-related vertical Web sites in existence today, and Asher remains deeply involved in developing the company’s strategy and vision.
The combination of personally moving a nearly a dozen times and being involved in the moving industry for several years, Asher has experienced plenty of moving challenges. His favorite customer request? Someone once asked him to transport a large aquarium with fish and water still in it.
